I keep thinking that our culture will eventually reach a tipping point.
Like the toddler throwing a fit, at SOME point, we’ll have to get up, look at the way we’ve acted and say, “Why was I acting so crazy?”
Like the child playing with his action figures, at SOME point, we’ll have to say, “Well, it was fun to play pretend, but now it’s time to live in the real world.”
Like the perpetual drunkard, at SOME point, we’ll have to realize that you can only escape reality for so long before it catches up to you.
You can only pretend that your biology has nothing to do with your gender, that a baby isn’t a baby until it’s outside of the womb, that your beliefs should be imposed upon everyone else …for so long. At some point, you’ll have to wake up and realize that WANTING to be something doesn’t MAKE you that thing. That WANTING a baby to not be a baby doesn’t MAKE it so. That WANTING to have something doesn’t mean you DESERVE it.
That wanting something to be true doesn’t make it true.
…or am I just crazy?
